New Year’s Resolution: Read Up

By January 9, 2017Hiring Talents

During these chilly months, we’re resolving not to succumb to the allure of playing candy crush by the fireside – instead we’re stacking our bookshelves with some recruitment friendly literature to help us keep inspired during the grey months.

First on the list is the wry and smart Who Moved My Cheese, by Spencer Johnson. A book about dealing with change, this business classic is perfect for anyone trying to understand the ever changing business environment. A great way to pick up tips on how to cope with change, and how to structure your dialogue with more optimism and opportunistic style.

Next we’re going to read Lean In, by Sheryl Sandberg. This is a great read about professional advancement and strategy. The collection of essays is illuminating, especially for female professionals (a key shortage demographic in the energy industry), and those looking to add more females to their team.

We’re going to start with these two this month and see where we get from there. Read along with us and don’t hesitate to be in contact as you begin your 2017 recruitment campaigns!
